Re: Two VGmusic masters

Several of Vurez's MM mixes are on OCR. I believe he also did T. Hawk's theme for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Re: The video Games of Dissapointment

Twilight Princess drew so many parallels to Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past that one can't help but feel it's a rehash, but I think that was the point. The last major Zelda game was The Wind Waker, and we all saw how that polarized the fan-base. So many complaints about "kiddy graphics&...

Re: SONIC 4! (not the fake SNES hack)

I'm wary, of course, but I'm not as "oh god, this will be crap" as a lot of others are. For one, the Sonic Cycle already doesn't apply: confirmed no friends, and the gameplay is a reversion. For another, this is a 2D style game, and we already know from the general history of the Advance a...

Re: What upcoming games do you look forward to?

Seeing as how the original post had Resident Evil 6 listed, I didn't even raise an eyebrow at Metroid Dread being up there.

Re: Question in regards to using music in game projects

Anybody who tried to sue you for using their midis without asking wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court since they don't own the music in the first place. However, it would still be nice if to e-mail the sequencer and ask for permission, something which takes very little time to do.

Re: XG

Speaking of which, where would I be able to get such software and how much would it cost? I'm not actually that interested in sequencing with XG, but I would love to be able to listen to XG MIDIs properly since a lot of the MIDIs I hear are meant for XG. Legally purchasing software is pretty much o...

Re: Midi Sequencer with Mute Cuica?

It changes instruments at higher and lower pitches because that's what a drum channel does; every single pitch is a different piece of percussion. There's no making a cuica sound higher by using a higher note; sorry. If you want a muted cuica, you have to use F#4; there's no other choice. As for you...

Re: Midi Sequencer with Mute Cuica?

It's not a normal instrument; it's part of the drumset. Set your staff's channel for 10 to switch it to drums, and throw down an F#4 (the F# above middle C) on a treble clef. Open Cuica's the G directly above that, for the record.

Re: TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled

Orion X wrote:Whoops. Didn't know that. I thought that the SNES version was a direct port as well.

It was, for the most part. Except for the added Technodrome level near the start, a few switched bosses, and Neon Nightriders going Mode 7 instead of sidescrolling.

Re: Your Yamaha XG compositions on an MU100

Just finished knocking this out a few minutes ago; curious to see how different it sounds compared to the normal setup.

(I still haven't bothered to install that 4mb patch yet)

Re: Hurr, cheap games!

[edit] Actually, I remember that at least FF7 came with an XG synth that at least sounded better than general midi. I think FF8 may have come with something similar (can't remember), but at least it didn't sound nearly so terrible as other options for those buggy ports. IMO, the FF7 midis using a p...

Re: Favorite tea(s) you/other(s) enjoy?

Okay, I meant sweet tea from the Southern US made by people who actually know how to make it. If it's dull and cardboardy, it's not sweet tea. Lipton's sweet tea is also not sweet tea.

True sweet tea should light your mouth on fire from proper sugar content. Anything less is a travesty.

I was under the impression that 4Kids stopped subbing anime altogether two and a half years ago.
