Re: Coalesence - For 5 Marimbas, Vibraphone, Piano, and Cele

Sure thing. I've exported the MIDI from Sibelius (the program I use for notation). It's fantastic at what it does, but, given that the primary emphasis is a visible score for musicians, the MIDI doesn't contain the sort of subtle nuances that a performer would see and implement. Let me know if you m...

Coalesence - For 5 Marimbas, Vibraphone, Piano, and Celesta

Hey all, It's been ... years... since I've posted anything I've done. Thought I might rectify that. Full Conductor's Score (.pdf) MIDI Realization (.mp3) I started Coalescence in Fall 2010, and didn't finish it until this last week. It started as a musical exploration of identity and independence in...

ISFEE: Instrument Studies For Eyes and Ears

Hey all, Nearly every composer interested in writing music for live musicians runs into a similar problem sooner or later: you write something impossible. Many of us here write almost exclusively with MIDI playback, in some form or another. Say what you will about MIDI synths, but in some regards, t...

Excellent Software for Transcribing Audio: Transcribe!

Hey all, One of my professors introduced me to a delightful piece of software called Transcribe!, produced by Seventh String Software: http://www.seventhstring.com/ It has since become an invaluable requisite in my arsenal. It is not an automatic Mp3 -> MIDI converter or anything of the sort. Rather...

New Original for Valentine's Day: Let's Make A Baby! (Mp3)

It's been about a year since I've posted anything I've done, so this is long overdue. I'm currently working on some music for a high-budged university Web-series, which I'll probably link to when all is said and done. Ironically, there is a Valentine's Day episode in this series, featuring comedy, r...

Re: Song is in wrong category

Fixed. It turns out it was a stolen file, anyway; there was already a MIDI for Innis in the Playstation 2 directory, sequenced by Darkholy Sephiro. Justin Hayes simply took the file, and uploaded it under his own name in the Gamecube directory. The stolen/misplaced file has been deleted.

First of all, the files on this site are not recordings from the game. They are MIDIs. That means that someone sat down, listened to the original material, and attempted to create a blueprint for that song. Mp3, Wav, wma, other such formats are just recordings of audio data. MIDI contains only basic...

There is one. Actually, there once was a topic that fit your description almost exactly. It was wriitten several years ago, back when Cloudy_Bear/Cloud_Strife/bustatunez was a moderator of the music-related boards. It linked to several programs, and recommended programs for beginning/intermediate/a...

The multiple entries for Pokemon Gold is currently a topic of discussion, and hopefully we'll have the situation under control sometime soon. The problem is a bit more complicated than one would think.

Ah, so I wasn't the only one. Which day did you go?

Also, were you unimpressed with the female choir member who had to run around and sing nothing but "Ooooooooh" for two or three songs?

Believe it or not, there might be some people in the world who don't know that "NES" refers to Nintendo's original console. Since "Nintendo Entertainment System" would take far too much space, my suggestion would be to have it listed as "Nintendo (NES)", which would hopefully satisfy everyone in one...
