Hello

Postby Ingolme » Thu Nov 05, 2009 12:10 pm

Hello! Sorry if greetings topics aren't welcome. I'm not sure how else to join a new community.

Hmm, the place seems a bit less active than I hoped at first, but I'll probably come here often, more to reply topics than to create them.

I like making MIDI files (when I'm not being lazy, I have a lot of unfinished ones that I just got bored of before finishing). I have a couple of songs on this site, but that makes around 5% of the MIDI files I have in my computer, both finished and unfinished. Videogame music is basically the only music I ever listen to.

Welcome! I know what you mean, though. I have like fifteen Midi's incomplete on my comp, but I've only posted one. (I'm somewhat new also)
I tend to listen to Videogame Music as my main genre, but I like almost everything but blues, rap, and pop. But if you're going to post a welcome message, I expect that you will ACTUALLY BE AN ACTIVE PART OF THE COMMUNITY, not one of these spammers who makes one welcome post and then skips out! lol

Hmm, I'll probably be here often, but I can't be sure I'll be posting a lot. I usually just reply to threads that I can say something about, I have trouble trying to get ideas for threads of my own.

You've already came back once, that's a good sign! What games have you sequenced from?

Quite a lot. Sonic, Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Super Smash Bros.
Before I discovered MIDI I was wishing I could find a program that would let me have instruments and put notes, I was happy to find out about MIDI editors about five years ago.

Yeah, I just discovered it within the last year or so. I got an Electronic Keyboard for Christmas, and I was messing around and tryed putting a midi on the sd card and sticking it in there, and it worked, so I was so excited. Then later I learned exactly what Midi's were, and found a free copy of Anvil Studios, so I started making them myself. I haven't got very much done. Right now I'm working on the Chao Challenge race from SA2.

Hmm? Naw, welcome topics are fine for the most part. Like Cavios mentioned, read the FAQ if you have questions or ask here if you have ones you can't find answers for. Welcome to the family.

[edit]
I can also quite understand how it goes with unfinished midis. I would probably hazard a bet that most sequencers have had at least a few of them to be honest. Personally, I think the worst ones are when they're practically finished and I still don't bother finishing them. I've done that far too many times.

Oh, and quick FYI, I don't mosey around here all that often any more, so don't be surprised if you don't see me but every so often.

I usually check in here once every day. As for unfinished MIdi's, I have some I have completed entirely except for the drum track... Grrr, I hate drum tracks.

I can understand that. They can be a bit of a pain.
