Guest posting is intentionally disabled on this forum due to the spam it tends to attract. It doesn't help that, when we removed the forum auto-prune, we allowed search engine indexing.

This poll will have no effect on how this forum is run.

Thank you, Teck. I appreciate that. I honestly believe that guest posting was annoying since inundations of requests would be very overwhelming for everyone; therefore, I think disabling guest posting was the best thing since sliced bread.

Then why even bring the topic up? Hm, this seems suspicious. I suspect that you may be, in fact, a guest in disguise.

Don't worry, my suspicion is only about 12... no, 7%. *Bites into a Twizzler*

I get your joke, Cavios. I put this poll up for opinions about the recent action the admins took. On top of that, I haven't been here for over seven months. I am not caught up with the times in this board. I'm only curious about what is going through everyone's heads about the action. One more thing. Cavios, your suspicion is making me very apprehensive about the users here on this website. I'm not sure if I can assume that maybe a few of our fellow users are guests incognito... But, like you said, chances are slim. Neither of us should worry.

Yeah, Powerlord already stated the obvious, but I still have to say -- no deal. As an admin of two forums I run (still undisclosed), can you imagine all the trash that a forum admin would have to go through if we didn't put security procedures in place?

What is to stop a guest from being part of this community anyway? We aren't the worst community in the world, you know~ If people just want to request things, maybe a shoutboard is in order, or maybe some other quick means to leave suggestions? By the way, PL, why was the auto-prune removed? And if for any reason, will it be put back in place?

Auto-prune was removed because forum activity as a whole was declining.

Really, the only reason auto-prune was around to begin with was to prevent old topics from being bumped, seeing as how we have more than enough disk space to handle the database size required to store old posts.

Well I don't know who that is... but it probably is Fhqwghads.

I asked my friend Joe, I asked my friend Jake.

They said it was Fhqwhgads!

OMG BAN ZAIES HE'S A NECROMANCER

Also, if you reply to spam ad-bots you're only encouraging them. TO MOCK SOMEONE IS HUMAN; TO IGNORE THEIR EXISTENCE IS DIVINE.

More to the point, I mass quarantine spammers' posts, so if you reply to one, their message will vanish, but yours won't.
