Gotta make your money somewhere, solis. They cater to the nostalgia nerds and the old school gamers like us because they know we'll eat it up, further fattening their pockets. You can't say it wasn't a smart move on their part~

I think the fact that you guys are whining about Mega Man 9 being almost a twenty dollar game instead of ten is just anal, frankly. And unless you get the game when it launches and play it nonstop, it's not like you're spinning your wheels waiting for some bonus content to come. I've bought worse games for fifty bucks, so give me a break.

You know what I want most out of Mega Man 10? I want it to be fun. How about you guys?

Nintendo would love it if you'd pay $20 for every game they release on the Virtual Console.

Wait, you're not willing to? Why not? Heck, Mega Man 5 and 6 even look and act just like that $20 Mega Man game! Better, in fact, because they still have the slide ability!

Seriously, though, technology has advanced in the last 20 years and Capcom is just trying to make a quick buck by cashing in on Nostalgia. I played some of Mega Man 9 and didn't really care for it. I'm sorry, I have apparently lost my rose-colored glasses, but it's a freaking terrible game for 2008 technology!

MM9 was very fun, as has been every other game in the classic series, so I see no reason to expect otherwise from 10.

I'd love it to be a bit harder, though - 9 was one of the easiest entries in the series to date, except perhaps 8

A couple problems with that are the fact that we've already played both of them, and Mega Man 9 has more content as a standalone game. Also, Proto Man has the slide, though I can understand if you don't want to play as a nerfed character with no access to the item shop.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what you're telling me is that the game is bad because it isn't state-of-the-art for what the Wii was capable of. This point is null from a gameplay perspective, because Super Mario Bros. is still fun.

If you didn't enjoy MM9, I'll take your word for it, but the game was fun and challenging, at the very least from my experience. I died a lot of times, yet almost every time I died, I was either laughing or smiling. Why? Because it was entertaining. The level design was clever and devious, and yet I never felt like I was ripped off or that I was wasting my time. Even the harder modes weren't really frustrating, because as I played, I learned how to use the abilities more effectively, which added depth to the strategy of the game and helped boost the replay value for me. I enjoy 8-bit games partly due to their historical significance, but I really don't see how you'd have to have nostalgia goggles to enjoy a game that's structured well.

@HyperX: I thought Mega Man 5 and 6 were the easiest personally, but perhaps that's because the first MM game I played was 7, so I was already used to using the charge and slide features. As much as I enjoy MM5, it's really 1-up happy from killing enemies and getting their pickups.

He's saying that it could have been so much more but rather they took a bad idea and ran with it. No one is saying it's a bad game, or that it's bad because it's 8-bit. We're saying it was two thousand f***ing eight and there's a reason Nostalgia is called Nostalgia because it was back THEN and not NOW. The game play would not have suffered in the least if they had better graphics and sound as well as not have nerfed your abilities. I mean you have to buy an extra download of the game just to get a character who can SLIDE. Seriously? If people want to enjoy their nostalgia effects and satiate their curiosity of "I wonder what it would be like if it were 8-bit" then feel free to relive your nostalgia on your emulators and fan made remakes of games that weren't 8-bit to begin with.

For the rest of us living in the now, we'd like to play our games IN the NOW. When you buy these types of games, you're giving them a reason to be lazy and make games like that become a fashion. What's the point of owning a super high priced game system that can do so much more when the games you play are the equivalent of a Nintendo game. That's like paying 200 US dollars for a system just so you can play a Nintendo game. That's why people feel ripped off.

The least Inafune could have done was appeal to both parties and have an option to play Classic MM style "What we have now" and Normal MM style "What the game should have been", not shaft the consumers out of what their 200 dollar game system can really do.

MM9 sounded interesting, but once I played it, I didn't think it was. It was a definite step backwards from MM7 (my favorite game in the series) and MM3 (my second favorite game in the series).

I still want to try 3D Dot Game Heroes if would actually come out for a system I have (i.e. something other than the PS3).

Cool, Teck! I've got to say, at least they look like they're putting more new into it this time! I saw LOTS of new enemies, and it looks like you can actually play as Protoman for FREE this time. IT actually looked like it will whomp MM9, hopefully. Oh, and I can't wait to see Roll start attacking people!
