Btw, at the end I'm gonna let people upload all the videos (from 4shared) in .mpg format so everything will be ok.

How's that supposed to work? We're syncing this stuff instead before submission now? (I'm assuming that's what this means.)

Oh, and btw, Darkstom hasn't been written in the lineup yet. He appeared to want a position so I just thought I should let you know (he just didn't know that already put in for the same number), though I might recommend PM'ing him with his new number.

Also, since I've never done one of the SCC's before, so are the the 1v1 matchups randomized after the full video/tunes are submiited? (I'd just assumed from the outset. Please let me know if I'm wrong.)

Sorry for this mispelling of my english. What I wanted to say is that all the videos of all the rounds will be avalaible through youtube anytime, but at the end of all this SCC, The videos are gonna be downloadable through my 4shared account. So when the first round, there will be all the videos for this round on Youtube, don't worry.

For Darkstom, I've already PMed him. If he doesn't respond to me, I'll gave him a number anyway.

In regards to which synth should be used during the contest, let me first off assume the contest is going to be in brackets. If not, completely disregard the below block of text.

By default, the synth that should be used is MSGS for all contestants. However, if a person and his opponent both agree to compose and record their midis in XG, would those entries be allowed? I realize the main controversy of synths is that if one opponent doesn't have a certain synth, then it won't be fair. However, if two opponents can make and record a midi in the same synth, I don't see the problem. I know Zenkusa and I did something similar on another VG music contest, except rather than recording in mp3, we just made sure the midi sounded alright in GM.

Anyway, just a thought. Even if that doesn't work out, I'm perfectly fine with an MSGS contest.

If the two contestants want to use XG to do their stuff, I can agree on it, but only if the two can and have the wavesynth.

XD now I am in trtoubble, I am using VSC since My soundcard is too crap and my sequencer doesn't support its Microsoft Wavetable syth, so no real GM things by me... I'll have to check out with winamp after but with the random dealy, this is going to be somewhat harder with video sync... I hope I won't get something too... movie'ish so that everything has to be perfectly timed

I am not gonna put some movies scenes that needs a music to be fit in each seconds. I will just give something that will be easy to find a music that should support the scene.

Actually Riley, Roland's Virtual Sound Canvas counts as GS, which is an extension of the General MIDI standard. You shouldn't have much trouble at all meeting the GM requirements using it. The heavy latency you're experiencing with it could become an issue, however; but as Anubis pointed out, there will be no real synching required, so you should be alright with the VSC. Probably.

Well... maybe Anubis is just an odd kinda guy. Unfortunately, we also appear to currently have an odd number of contestants. Looks like we need to scrounge up at least one more. *crosses fingers*

I did mentioned that earlier, although I will admit that I was being a bit sarcastic at the time. Perhaps I was a bit too subtle. *shrugs* Meh. I have a poor sense of humour (at least for telling jokes)... >_<
