Great job! Post-topic talks are now open!
-------------------------------------------------------
THE RULES

1. You will have 2 weeks to compose a song. To quote X,
X wrote:While one week should really be enough (since there really aren't any restrictions aside from category), it doesn't really account for accidents, emergencies, etc. Besides that, extra time for polish doesn't hurt either.

2. The songs should be done in the Megaman 9 OST style, with 2 loops followed by a fade out.
3. The songs can be as long as you want, but please don't make a 10 minute long song.
4. You will be randomly assigned a theme and an opponent using http://www.random.org/sequences. Don't complain about it to me.
5. The songs should be PM'd to me. Title them if you want, I don't care. They will all be renamed as A or B and will be placed as links on this post for downloading/streaming.
6. You can only use the default standard MIDI. Using XG and what-not could give an unfair advantage to one person because it could sound more professional, so, only standard MIDI.
7. Have fun.
8. At the end of the competition all of the songs will be available on my site for download.

Hmm. Seems like a daunting take (just personally speaking), but I may be up to it so long as I can get some other projects out of the way first. Given a few recent circumstances, I just might be able to pull something off, so go ahead and sign me up.

I will admit that the stage ideas seem a tad bit vague to me at this point, though perhaps that will change when you get around to actually giving us the stuff to go by.

Apologies in advance if I find myself having to bail at some point in time. I'm a bit... wary... of what my future may hold at this time.

I will consider joining this comp, assuming more people participate.

I was well aware of the Front Mission project when I made this (assuming that's what you were talking about), so I deliberately set it to start after that concluded on the 18th, unless my timing is off, like it usually is.

I made the stage ideas a little vague so that people wouldn't feel preasured by the name of the fictitious robot master, for example "Blast Man" (Stealing form Batte Network). In some cases people may be flustered by this and be unable to compose anything, which is something I'm trying to avoid after the round 2 fiasco from SCC #6.

Naw. I actually meant that, getting that other stuff done for your previous project, and a couple other things, which with a little bit of luck (if I have any left) I should be able to get done by done. I suppose that might be a bit overly-optimistic though. *crosses his fingers*

Or, like in my case, considering those that may not be inspired enough to make anything that ranks higher than a steaming pile of bantha fodder. I myself usually am relegated to waiting for inspiration to strike me, which it rarely does, much less so that a midi actually pans out into something worth listening to (or even gets finished in most cases). *shrugs* Sorry. I'd be lying if I said that I was any good.

Sorry... couldn't help it on that one...

Some personal problems have come up, so unfortunately the start of the competition will have to be pushed back by a week.
Sorry! :(

Yeah. That's what I meant. I just used the wrong word. My bad.

Why is it that as the number of people increases the rate of entries also increases?
Oh, and I added a poll because I'm curious about the time frame. 1 week seems too short for a full fledged Megaman-style song.

Oops. I accidentally hit the one for "one week" instead of two. While one week should really be enough (since there really aren't any restrictions aside from category), it doesn't really account for accidents, emergencies, etc. Besides that, extra time for polish doesn't hurt either. Although... *gak* if I have to up against Zenkusa, I might as well just fold... x_x Good thing this hits the fun category for me. ^_^

I'm tentatively in, though November will be hectic for me so I might end up rushing my entries.

Cool. seven poeple so far (tentatively). I'd like to have at least 8 before I green-light the competition since that will give us three solid rounds. This is shaping up to be pretty good.
EDIT:
X wrote:Oops. I accidentally hit the one for "one week" instead of two.

Just to make sure, did you revote or not? It's tied at 2 vs. 2 so I'd like to know if you revoted or if you just want it to be noted that you wanted to vote for two weeks.
I'm not sure if I checked revoting or not...
