awe, that looks like it could have been an interesting debate.

everyone has somewhat different musical backgrounds and preferences here, that's what makes it compelling to moi.

from the way how things sounded in the zipped folder, everything is an "interesting debate". XD Idk I already heard many opinions through everyone's "music". I know this is gonna sound cliche but let's try and not be so savage here :T the entries themselves are already arguing with each other, we don't need more of it public.

EDIT: Nevermind. 2 minutes in the help file later, and we're golden.
EDIT: Now I'm realizing that I don't know how to (or care to bother figuring out how to) edit the functions to allow for dividing by a different number of judges for the entries whose composer also submitted scores. Also, not every judge opted to score the entries in a normal fashion. I'm probably gonna just fall back on the caveman method this time around. But thanks for the spreadsheet. It's really swanky.

AI The Original wrote:I'm almost done with mine. I have all my comment written out, but I'm still figuring out appropriate scores for some of the pieces. I feel that I'm evaluating some entries too harshly.

We're all big boys and girls. As long as you're equally harsh across the board and don't save your vitriol only for the entries that rub you the wrong way, I doubt anyone will hold it against you. It only causes bruised feelings when one or two entries get a comparatively tiny score for trivial reasons.

It does the averaging automatically, all you have to do is type in the scores. Doesn't matter how many judges there are, it auto compensates and changes the number to divide by based on how many cells actually have data in them. That's the perk of of the AVERAGE command. :D

And what do you mean "normal fashion"? If they didn't score the entries from 0-100 they clearly can't fornicate read so make their dumb asses redo the scoring the correct way. :p

I was personally inclined to rate these on a scale of seahorses to chocolate-covered raisins, but unfortunately that is against the rules. So I came up with my own quirky voting scheme instead. Some of you will probably wish I had stuck with seahorses.

I don't know if I'll be able to send in scores this time. I've only had time to go through all the submissions once so far. So many entries to go through! But I will probably post my highlights in this thread once I have time to listen through them again.

Dave: It was not shaping up to be a debate. No flame wars till at least after results are released. ;)

Zack: I'll look at it again, but it appeared to not do what you said it was supposed to do. Gotta get to work right now, though.

Willow: was talking about someone else, actually, but it's not a big deal to work around.

strugglepoo: That's reasonable. Good luck.

Maybe, I'm still pretty confident. ;)

Also, wouldn't be fair to submit the scores to me early, but if you send me over the spreadsheet after you release them with what you have done with it, I'll look at it and try and figure out what you are whining about... other than the defeat you are about to endure as I search google for the perfect profile pic for you... mwahahaha.

I'm off to bed, and hopefully there won't have been any flame wars by the time I get up. I look forward to the results tomorrow.
