Sample Pack Contest VI

Let's do this! Don't get too excited yet though, I don't plan on starting the contest until December 1st, so that MMC is out of the way.
Never competed in an SPC before? There's a bit of introductory spiel and some downloads here to help you get the jist. I'll explain in more detail when the contest starts, but feel free to ask any questions now if you like. Let's focus on submitting samples for now.

No special stipulations this time. Anything goes.

SAMPLE SUBMISSION RULES:
- Send (up to) 3 WAV files. The sounds can be of anything (doesn't have to be recorded from a mic) ~ the more eclectic weird wonderful and less piano-ey, the better.
- Format should be 44.1KHz 16 bit (if they aren't, they will be converted.) Mono or stereo is permitted.
- Each WAV must be no longer than 4 seconds.
- Keep them anonymous - do not say what you submitted, and do not name them in a way that would reveal you as the author.
- Avoid increasing the pitch of sounds to get them under the length limit. Can't easily enforce this, but there it is anyway.
- No taking a 12 second sample and cutting in 3rds to circumvent the length limit that way either! 3 similarly themed samples is permitted but discouraged (for instance, the two quakeguy samples from SPC4.)
- Samples should be 'one-shot' (ie. no combining a bunch of different sounds into one WAV.) Something like a drumbreak is okay though. Use common sense~
- No "chipped" sounds (very short loops.)
- The assumption is that if you submit samples you'll also be entering a song. Can't enforce this either, but I'm a good nag. ;] Basically, if you don't think you'll enter yourself, don't send in samples.

Samples will be topped+tailed to remove silence.

SAMPLE SUBMISSION HAS NOW CLOSED. The pack will be released December 1st. Prelminary deadline for songs is January 7th (I think MMC could resume January 1st while votes and stuff is going on.)

SAMPLE SUBMISSIONS:
- Maxo (3)
- dusthillguy (3)
- zebra (3)
- Blitz Lunar (2)
- The Ultimate Chimera (3)
- Rocco (2)
- Kris Troutman (3)

- MaliceX (3)
- Mr.Chin (2)
- HyperX (2)
- Willow (3)
- KungFuFurby (3)

Hello, and please welcome me to the forum. This sounds like something that would interest me very much. I would like to enter, and hope to have some samples quite soon. For now, let this serve as inspiration.

SO in on this.

*starts recording*

EDIT: Running into minor technical difficulties. Please save a spot for me, and I should have it sorted by later tonight.
EDIT2: Kay, done. They're on their way.

Mr. Chin, it appears that you and I draw inspiration from entirely different sources. XD

I'm definitely in on this. I'll get to work on my samples now. Expect them either tonight or tomorrow. So please reserve my spot. I will get them done by tomorrow at the absolute latest.

Maybe just hide the names of the samples, and then reveal all the names once the contest is over.

This will be fun.

Edit: Samples sent.

I hope to have mine in later this evening. Please allow me the time to go into town and purchase general goods and foodstuffs, as well as consuming a warm meal, as well as the time to create and/or procure said samples.

I BE HAPPIES. SPC is always one of my favourite moments of the year.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to submit any samples before three more people submit theirs, so I won't ask for you to reserve my spot. If I get them in before the 12th person then cool. I'll try! But got to go now.

Anyway, I'm excited about this.

haha man i screwed up so badly, should have made it 2 per person. i didn't think so many people would be interested. i'll raise it to 13 people... which will be 39 samples, 1 more than last year.

That's a good idea! And actually it's still workable.

I volunteer to omit my sample#1. If we can get a few others to do the same (in multiples of two) then more people can submit their two samples.

I was about to scrape together a third sample, if we're going ahead with this let me know pretty quickly. I don't mind sacrificing a sample so someone else can get one in, I packed a fair bit into my 2.
