Requesting with my latest original. Had to fix some problems that Anvil Studio left me in it.

Yeah, hi. I have a request, if you don't mind, Lunar.

Even though it doesn't contain any XG unique events, I did write this midi, attached below, to be played in XG. In fact, I made this mp3 of it by playing it in MidRadio and recording it with Audacity.

So, I'm hoping that your MU100 might make it sound even better. I suppose the end result will depend on how it balances the instruments relative to each other... *hopes balancing on a MU100 is similar to MidRadio*

If it ends up clipping or doing some other weird thing that you think I should know about, uhh... obviously please let me know. =) I can tweak stuff as necessary.

Anyway, thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

The input volume will probably have to be lowered...

I'm guessing it won't :P the MidRadio player is more modern, and what it lacks in functionality it makes up for in nice timbres. The MU100 sounds closer to the SYXG50, but with some different patches and overall higher sound quality. It could be compared more to the S-YXG50 VSTi in terms of "brightness."

I'll get around to this later~

Speaking of, I almost swiped a MU50 for 60 bucks a couple of weeks back but couldn't after being unable to come up with the funds. Does the MU50 sound JUST like the SYXG50, Lunar? Or have you not heard it?

I believe it's pretty much identical to the SYXG50 in terms of sound. I know for sure that it's identical in terms of features (though having zero latency is always nice!) If I remember, I'll ask dusthillguy to make some recordings using his.

$60 is a bargain, I'd go for it if I were you (if you're still able!)

edit: mp3 time

great track by the way.

Wow, thank you. :D

I have to say, the bassline *really* comes out in this one. Well... I did write it to be a prominent part of the song... maybe not that prominent though.

Anway, thanks for fulfilling my request. I know this is probably asking a lot, but... if you ever have some extra time, do you think you could try it again, except using the attached version below. I've tweaked the volumes (an educated guess) so that they should sound balanced on your MU100 a little more similar to how they're balanced in my MidRadio version.

Mostly, the piccolo+pan flute melody were a little too soft; same with the trumpet. If you don't feel like doing it again, then I'm totally okay with you saying "no", I won't be offended.

One last thing, thank you for complimenting it. I'm glad you liked it. I don't know if I'll write anything that fun again (I composed it a year ago already, wow, time flies). I'm probably a one-hit wonder type of composer, hahaha. Especially since I almost never compose anymore...

Sorry for babbling. Thanks again, Lunar.

I've got a MU50. If you give me some MIDI files, I'll record them playing back on it, and by this method we can determine whether or not the MU50 sounds the same as the SYXG50.

Ah! High Bass Quality. Synth Voice sounds betters. Tekno bass looks more inclined. More echoes and brightness. Nice atmosphere. But the drums are bit heavier than it should be. Thanks, lunar. :D

The flute melody definitely comes out more in this one.

My plan of cloning the trumpet track to make it louder, sadly, back-fired on me and somehow actually made it even softer, lol. It's fine though,
you were already kind enough to do it twice, I won't test your generosity by asking for a third time.

Thank you again, Lunar. =D
