Congratulations on winning, Alias. Ironically funny because of the ... alias. :P

Wanna know who I was? Pretty simple. The one who got last place. :P

My entries were #8 and #29. Only 2 because I missed the second and third rounds because of my headphones breaking.

Your Lard and Master reporting in.

Entries 7 and 14 be mine (a wonderful thing called life popped up and stole most of my second-round time and all my third-fourth round time away). #7 is the only one I'm somewhat satisfied with. Oh well.

AH DAMMIT!

I shall reveal my Identity, I'm getting bored that nothing is happening....

I was Lightning (It was a tribute for Shock, who's the first person to show me this wonderful site)
and I did:

#4: It's Clubbin' Time
#19: Rite of Passage: The Evil Ritual
#25: The Gonads: Encore
#31: Celebration : A Tropical Affair

Also for a comment that I read for my last entry : Just after 2 days that I gave my entry, I discovered the beginning of Super Mario RPG, and realized that my intro was kinda the same. I did the same thing last time for a song, when I discovered similirarities with an escape song from Kirby Super Star. It was really not intentional, but at least the whole song doesn't look the same  .

Also, I was a bit laughing when I see that Blue.nocturne thought I was Willow or Blitz Lunar, for me it's kind of a compliment :D .

Wow.

I was never familiar with your style Anubis, but guess I underestimated you. Entries #4 and #31 were quite impressive. Kudos to you. :)

also, "Alfa D'Amore" is Magister, not Willow. He did entries #3, #20 and #30. Moreover, blue.nocturne does not have an entry for first round but a work-in-progress. (his final entry is likely #34). Everything should be clear now I believe.

edit: bonus entry 2 is indeed mine. blue.nocturne hit it right on the mark

The only two aliases that haven't already been admitted to are 'Alias' and 'Alfa D'Amore', and the only two people who haven't yet fessed up are Magister ZZ and blue.nocturne, as far as I can tell. I don't believe Willow entered.

Still waiting to know for sure who made all the tracks before I listen or comment. 3, 4, 17, 20, 22, 30 and 34, as well as bonus entries 1 - 4, are the only ones not claimed now.

Ahh, so you were Lightning!
It seems all these contests have paid off, you have gotten a lot better now Anubis.
I would have never guessed it, since I looked at the old posts,
and I think you said you couldn't finish on the third round.
Your style has matured, so I'll keep that in mind next time. :D

Moreover, blue.nocturne does not have an entry for first round but a work-in-progress.

No one ever said it's not allowed to have a work-in-progress and an entry.
But, yes, I am Alias (I didn't mean to pick that name, but decided to stick with it).
And my entry for round 1 is Entry 1, which was supposed to be a bad Blitz_Lunar impression.

Anyways, since Ace hasn't posted anything yet, I bring out the spreadsheet again.
It's inaccurate in the sense it is missing votes, because not all the votes had comments.
However, it does give a sense of who did what, who missed which rounds, and a semi-accurate round analysis.
So if it places you lower than Ace's, just remember it's missing votes and it's not meant to offend you.

Really? Didn't see that coming. It sounded very distinct from your style so it didn't cross my mind whatsoever. All the pitch bends actually made me think it was Horn's entry when I first listened to it.

Yeah, My midis rarely go under 100K, and most of the time are 200-300K in file size for a 2 min song.

Haha. I'd forgotten about that little bit. I suppose it should've been a bit more obvious then. >.<; On the other hand, I didn't remember Jace using that particular style in his midis at all.

@Jace: I've actually been kind of curious since #15 (and in #21) what set that was you were using after the program change (the program I'm opening up in won't tell me) and what the particular instrument names were. I love that style.

@Anubis: Ah! I was wondering who did the Tropical Affair midi. It's a pity there was only one (makes me wish I'd finished the one I'd started), but I'm glad there was at least one up there. Nice one.

If you mean the drums it's just the electronic set with the combination of registered parameter events and pitch bends. Most of the midis I used it in I consider to be crap because of how long ago it was.

cheers man, that was me. i kind of liked the start, then ran out of time to write anything, so bashed out a couple of fairly lame string sections as a sort of hint of the direction i was going to go. but i never know, half the time my favourite bit ends up being deleted because it just doesn't fit! thanks though, there was really a lot of good stuff in this contest - it'd be cool to have an official post up with everyone and the scores for all the songs and things...comments can stay anonymous etc. but it'd be good to just have it there so it's easier to comment and compliment etc.!

Ah. I wasn't thinking of that. Funny how altering even just two of those events (not to mention others) so drastically alters the sound of those instruments. I'm still a noob in so many ways... Thanks for your help. ^_^

Hi. Initially I was really into wanting to join the contest. But unfortunately I ended up having to undergo surgery exactly on the starting date. If I may put forth a suggestion for future contests is the ability to drop the lowest score out of all participated rounds in order to allow someone that has missed a round or doesn't feel adequate to address a certain round to have the option to not have to participate. BUT! before you say this is unfair, It also gives whoever does participate in every single round the advantage of having their lowest score dropped. So for example, if someone competes in 2 rounds, their final score is the average of those 2 rounds. But if someone competes in all 3 their final score is the average of their 2 highest rounds so everything stays fair and musician morale stays high in my opinion.

Also I feel judging needs to stay constant in that whoever enters a piece in a round MUST judge, or they should be docked points for it. Having unequal judging/composing can lead to unbalanced results, it may not always but there's always the possibility. If that's impossible to do for whatever reason I feel having a set of static unbiased judges that AREN'T also making the pieces to the contest would be beneficial to keeping things friendly and fair.

Nikita~
Anyway, I'll be wanting to enter the next one. =]

Yo dudes.

I still exist, though marginally. I'm very loathe to have missed this (just saw Ace's invitation PM today). But it's probably for the best. I would have been torn to shreds. You guys are amazing.

Someone track me down when the next composing event goes down around here ;)
