Anime and Video Games

Postby BlackJackRatso » Mon Aug 17, 2009 4:41 pm

There was something that came to my mind the other day. I noticed that it seems most of the people I know that call themselves gamers generally seem to be rather into anime.

I noticed this to be true with myself but was curious as to what others thought on the subject.

*weird anime isn't in the default google spell check.*

Some, mostly mecha with the occasional fantasy film here and there. Favourite series would probably be Macross

I assume this thread is asking us whether or not this is true. Mathematically speaking, this thread will give way to inaccurately drawn conclusions as we do not have a large enough population that will respond to this thread to get the bare minimum for a test sample. Furthermore, we do not represent a diverse enough community to represent the various forms of gamer, which may or may not affect whether they play games or not. I fail to see what you hope to achieve by making this thread.

On another note, either Death Note or FMA: Brotherhood.

To be honest I haven't watched Anime in a long time, nor can I remember the last one I seen. I've been buying a lot of graphic novels as of late. Recently I've been getting into Junji Ito's stuff, like Uzumaki and GYO, lot of twisted horror Manga. Dunno why, but I likes it~

Nope. Don't care much for anime or manga. But I like to incorporate certain anime/manga drawing techniques on some of the things I draw.

I never watched much anime. More so when I was younger (anyone remember Escaflonie?). Mind you that's probably because I've never enjoyed things that focus too much on story. I am a very heavy "gamer" though.

My friend got me into anime, but there is still so many out there I have to see, I've barely scratched the surface of the anime world (its an on and off interest).

Personal Favorite: K-On. I want a season 2 *mumble grumble hiss growl*.

As an anime fan, I mostly go for titles that have cute girls. My favorite one of all time has been Mon Colle Knights (see my avatar). Favorites that I watched last year, though, were The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, and I also watched Ultimate Girls (which never got released here) on YouTube. This year, my favorites that I rented from Netflix have been Kanon (2006 edition) and Lucky Star.

Currently every single gamer friend I have watched anime. Everyone one who joins my group of friends slowly gets corrupted.

My favorites are: Trigun, Cowboy Bebob, and Kenichi.
