I think this is a really promising project. I hope it gets enough interest to see it through to completion, but its gonna be tough. One hundred tracks is a quite a bit. I listened to Industrus Core on your Youtube channel. It sounds great man! It's really eerie and atmospheric. Excellent work.

Here is my contribution to Project VGM for anyone interested: Town of Maniba. I may do more tracks for it when I get some more time opened up.

*listening to "Town of Maniba"*

I'm impressed, it sounds very towny and manibean! You made a good choice claiming it, because it fits your style really well. Excellent music for a forest town in a JRPG!

The two other songs I'm in charge of are Merrill and Keiran's themes, by the way. You'll find them on my Youtube once they're done.

Well, 63/100 are claimed already, so I think we're gonna reach 100 claims, but I'm not sure all participants will actually do it. It may take some time before we get 100 actual tracks.

I'm in! In this case, why not?

I took one track, and only one track for now.
My game music works:
Scribble Star by Winzenheimer and the Stencyl Team
Nine Pixel Game by KungFuFurby (my own creation! ^_^)
Arkanaut by Manuel/Satelite Play
Blackheist by Manuel/Satelite Play

And some others that haven't been released yet.

Wow. I guess I didn't realize it got such a big response! That's awesome news. Can't wait to hear the finished product. :)

glad to see this getting a significant take-up! i'm unlikely to join due to so much other stuff happening, but there's a small chance i could pick up "whatever's left" at some point down the line :)

I've requested #77, Mustle. I guess this means I have to learn about these fancy mixing and production things and use real instruments, or something...

Quite an interesting project here. If I wasn't so caught up in my current project, I'd lend a hand. Well, only 7 more songs until I'm done.

I listened to a few of the pieces done for this. All of you are doing a great job on this! Jonah's song makes me want to try learn to play the guitar again. :x

Wish I could pitch in, but I think this one project I'll have to skip. Too much other stuff on my plate at the moment.

I might be doing this project. I have finally brushed up on my compositioning so I could do this one.

So lately I've doing piano versions of some of my songs and I just completed my reworking of Town of Maniba. I thought since the original track was written for Project VGM then it might be relevant to share it here.

Town of Maniba (Piano Version) video with Synthesia
Town of Maniba (Piano Version) MP3

I might send it to Jormungand. A lot of projects like this have some extra material left over that get released as bonus tracks. Maybe this would fit into that category.

I've been listening to all of the Project VGM tracks as they come out and I gotta say everyone is doing excellent work. I really enjoyed "Keiran's Theme." It's just plain awesome. I wish I could pull off epic orchestral stuff like that. Curtifirst's March of Malevolence track is also excellent. I'm also a big fan of Grant Kirkhope's work and I hear his influence here. Great job.

Glad you like Keiran's Theme! I haven't started working on Merrill's Theme yet but it's gonna be very different from Keiran. For some reason I've been very interested in all character themes, but I only picked 2 in order to let other people bring diversity. However I'll probably do more character themes if they're available again during next row.

The piano version of Town of Maniba is great! Good job on the velocities. It would be cool too if someday you played it live. And I just read you use Reason? That's what I've always been using! Not many people do but I always enjoy listening to what others cook up with it.

Well yes, you should send it to Jormungand. I'm pretty sure he'll feature it somewhere.

Yup. Most of the stuff I write is with Reason. It's by far one of my favorite audio programs. I usually use Sony Acid Pro with Rewire for recorded guitar tracks. I've played around a bit with FL Studio as well as some trackers like Modplug and Renoise. They're great software, but they just don't work as well for me as Reason and Acid do. One day I'd like to give Logic a try. I've heard from several people that it's the best audio package you can get.
