I plan to submit samples as well myself. However, hopefully they can just be sent via email because Megauploads was shut down and it's probably only a matter of time before the other upload sites get shut down as well, so I don't trust any of them any longer.

Anyway, I plan to submit samples, but I want to take a few days (maybe even a week), so that I can get something made that is more unique than what I did last time. I will still be in time ahead of the headline. I just wanted to give a heads up in-case anyone was a little eager to jump-start things.

It's a good thing I decided to check the forums, because I probably would have missed this contest entirely if I didn't.

Oh man, someone told me about this multiple contests ago as something I would like to do, but I was too busy at the time to enter. I think I missed it the later times it was run. I am considerably less busy this time, and I actually caught this at the right time this time, so I'm excited to finally be able to participate this time!

I was hoping you would see my facebook post! I tagged you :F

MicroProcessor: awesome! hope you do :)

I have three samples picked out at the moment but they're subject to change. I'll probably wait until just before the deadline to submit them.

Also one thing I probably should have mentioned -- as well as keeping note of who sends what, it's best to rename any samples that have the authors names in them.

I keep track of who posted what by downloading the ones that where uploaded to filesharing websites and re-uploading them to my email with the correct name.
After this I put every email containg sound files in a seperate folder. I have 8 submissions already and I can read that a few more are coming, so great news !
I think im going to start topping + tailing and converting them in a few days, shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Gah... Sad thing is, I hardly use Facebook, and when I do, it's not for long (very quick log on and off), so unless something is right there on the front page, I probably won't notice it.

I'll be so interested what people come up with in samples this time. It's getting harder to come up with unique stuff now (for me anyway). There's a small chance my samples would come in sooner, but only a small chance.

I'll try to get some samples in shortly. I've got some free time this year, so I think I can finally give the contest a go.

One place you won't find me is Facebook. This is mainly for privacy reasons.

Who knows? Maybe this SPC may just haver one of the largest sample sets in all of the SPCs.
My game music works:
Scribble Star by Winzenheimer and the Stencyl Team
Nine Pixel Game by KungFuFurby (my own creation! ^_^)
Arkanaut by Manuel/Satelite Play
Blackheist by Manuel/Satelite Play

And some others that haven't been released yet.

Ah great ! 10 entries already. I'm managing the samples right now, no problem but should I just name them: 1, 2, 3 ...etc ?

nah, keep the names, just remove any info that would contravene anonymity.

Ok, that's fine. I thought that the names should be kept anonymous ? :?

the people who submitted them should be anonymous yeah, but the filenames themselves can be kept the same. that is if i sent "blitzlunar_-_blah.wav" you'd just rename it to "blah.wav", and just note in a text file somewhere that i sent it. they don't need to be renamed to numbers -- actually i think it's more fun if the original names are there, especially when it's not clear what the sample even is without the title!

the only time it's a bit complex is like when maxo last year submitted his samples as "MaxoS1.wav", and i think i just renamed them to "anonS1.wav" instead or something like that.

Oh dear, that really isn't very many samples...

Do you think we'll get that many more people in between now and then?

Well, you can count on mine for sure, and probably Dave's. I'm waiting till just before the deadline (by 1 day that is), so that if any other ideas come up, I'll use those instead of what I have in mind. I'll be submitting 3 samples for sure, by the 30th, or possibly sooner if I feel to just go ahead and go with what I have in mind (which I probably will, but no guarantees).
