And me? I'm still trying to think of an SNES game with boss music I liked.

I want to make a Mother 3 boss theme, damnit! :x

Mother 2 isn't such a bad idea, actually. That is a SNES game. ^_^

Well, I'm lucky to have MidRadioPlayer (someone else showed me this MIDI player), but that's about as good as it gets...

Now you got me thinking of Starseed. What happened to that game? I haven't heard from it in at least six months...
My game music works:
Scribble Star by Winzenheimer and the Stencyl Team
Nine Pixel Game by KungFuFurby (my own creation! ^_^)
Arkanaut by Manuel/Satelite Play
Blackheist by Manuel/Satelite Play

And some others that haven't been released yet.

Yeah, I had that in mind. But I find it quite difficult to write boss music in the style of Mother 2. It has a very special style of music which I haven't heard in any other game.

Ah, Starseed ^^

I've canceled the project. That doesn't mean, I'm not gonna continue working on it, but I'm lacking ideas. I've actually learned how to program RPG's with Flash, so it would look something like the Zelda Flash game "Seeds of Darkness", which isn't even too bad. Programming a game using assembler (meaning a SNES game) is extremely difficult. There are a lot of things to consider.

Anyway, it would be more interesting for me, to write a game with a whole team. It's kinda boring and hard to write an RPG alone.

In terms of the MIDI Contest:

I'd suggest you to download some boss theme MIDI files from SNES games, to get an idea of how the track looks like and what instruments could be used etc. I've done the same thing too, because I had absolutely no idea, what instruments I could use. I've written my first theme using real SNES samples, and then I transcribed it into MIDI format.

Hey, I've got just the source to find the originals!

SNESMusic.org has lots of boss themes in SPC file from many different games! And I've been adding more through my contributions! ^_^

http://snesmusic.org/v2/

And I'll even let out a boss theme in SPC format that is quite obscure and is not found on SNESMusic.org (and no, this doesn't have an MIDI either to my knowledge)... there's actually a somewhat more pleasant sounding boss theme from Pachi Slot Land that I have (it has bosses in the form of... a pachi-slot mini-game. I did play the game, though I hacked my cash. No, I don't have all of them identified... I have twenty six tracks, and I don't really have the pachi-slot jingles identified.)!

Pachi-Slot Land Boss Theme!

The person that composed this is... er... Studio HAL. Yeah, that's what the staff roll said. And yes, that means I did beat the game. ^_^ The SPC is completely untagged, as I don't do that until I'm actually ready to do so.
My game music works:

Nine Pixel Game by KungFuFurby (my own creation! ^_^)

Yeah, I'm definitely staying out this time. There's just no SNES games that I played that had any awesome boss music I care to emulate.

Also, Dentelle, you still haven't explained your score of my SPC song to me like I asked. :/

Guys, today is the 17th of April and there are only a few days left until deadline. Some people have already told me, they don't wanna participate. I want to know, if any one is working on their entries, or if I should cancel it. If it's too hard or if you have no ideas, we could of course cancel it and release the stuff we've done.
