MAGFest -- Music And Gaming Festival, Jan 1-4, 2010

MAGFest is a four day long video game and music festival. There's three nights of live video game cover bands, 24 hour console/arcade/LAN/tabletop gaming, plus an open mic jamspace with provided instruments that everyone's welcome to play.

MAGFest is going into its eighth year, and the next one is coming up January 1-4, just outside Washington DC, at the hilton mark center in alexandria. There's also going to be a new years eve party for people who pre-register.

Here are the guests announced so far, with much more to come.

Bands:
-Metroid Metal
-Arm Cannon
-Rare Candy
-This Place Is Haunted

Guests:
-There Will Be Brawl creators Matt Mercer and Zach Grafton
-Voice actor Jon St. John, known best for having balls of steel as duke nukem
-YuGiOh - The Abridged Series creator Martin "LittleKuriboh" Billany

ahh yes, i heard about the Magfest. Music producer; Renard was playing at the last one =)

Anyone want to save money by going in a group? We should organize carpools/plane tickets and setup groups by state.

I can't wait to go! I've been going to MAGFest for the past two years and I haven't regretted spending a single penny! :D

With so many bands playing and so many people to meet--last year there was Howard Drossin, Grant Kirkhope, and Tommy Tallarico--there's almost no reason not to be able to make it. It truly is one of the best places I've ever been to.

Brushfire's been trying to get me to go next year, but I doubt it'll happen.
