Game System: Nintendo 64
Game Name: Perfect Dark
Song Title: Main Menu (GS)
Sequenced by: King Meteor
Other Information: I've never actually played this game, but several years ago, I heard this song in a flash game and only recently found out what song it was.
Since there wasn't an accurate MIDI on VGMusic, I decided to sequence it.
I was able to emulate the breathy, metallic, percussive sound effects that are prominent in this game and Goldeneye by down-pitching a tambourine and ride cymbals.
Obviously, to do this without affecting the pitch of the regular drums, I had to use multiple percussion channels, so GS is a MUST!
With some other GS patches, I was able to get this MIDI remarkably close to the original.
I think this is the best use of GS that I've made in a MIDI so far.
