Funnily. this waarangement I actually started working on WAAAAAY long ago, to the point where I can't even remember how long it's been-- maybe even a year. But anyway. 
I got my grubby mittens on the Super Star .spc music files and exported the Meta Knight Defeated tune to a .mid. 
THEN, I spent however long recreating every individual channel by hand, using the .mid as a guideline. This speeds up the process but NOT at the expense of feeling like I cheated.
Plus, because I only used a reference, and the channels' contents are different enough as such, I can actually upload the sequence to VGMusic in good conscience.
